The Master of Advanced Studies in Humanitarian Operations and Supply Chain Management (MASHOM) consists of twelve tailor-made courses designed specifically to address the capacity building needs of humanitarian organizations. Courses are held for one week every other month. During each one-week session, students attend two different classes, each class lasting three days. The first day is dedicated to project presentations and discussions.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants in the MASHOM program obtain a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) Degree from the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). According to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System framework set by the European Commission, the MAS degree is based on 60 ECTS (credit units). The MAS Degree is similar to the part-time Executive Master Degree.
Upon successful completion of the Six Sigma concentration, participants also obtain a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate issued by the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). The Six Sigma Green Belt certifies that participants have the ability to reduce process variation and improve process quality and results through identification and removal of root cause errors.
